GoodListener Profile
I was born in 1945, and remember some television programmes from 1950 onwards. The earliest radio I remember listening to for myself was 'Journey Into Space: The Red Planet'. Today I have all the 'Jouney Into Space' tapes.
Later I discovered Paul Temple and once asked my parents to listen to the final episode to tell me who the villain turned out to be, because I was in hospital. Presumably the hospital headphones weren't much good, or maybe it was the day of my operation; anyway, they forgot. I finally heard that episode over twenty years later.
Because I grew up with TV, I didn't really hear Children's Hour, and discovered it when I was ceasing to be a child, especially the serials. I particularly remember 'Alice' with Prunella Scales, 'The Secret Garden', and the Aubrey Feist serials.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
