Hi there,
Sorry I've been so long getting back to you, thanks for your offer of help! I've decided to concentrate on woods and forests which feature in quite a lot of fairy tales. They are usually dark and foreboding so I want this to come accross in the images. (Photography) Do you know of any less run of the mill tales that feature woods in this way? Any other thoughts?
Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated1

Thats quite alright
O.k..forests in faerie tales are, as I read it, meant to show deep primal fear (essentially of the unknown). I also understand they have something to do with repression. They're very archetypal in that way. Pretty much all faerie tales feature a forest in some way but i'd go for 'The Red Shoes' by Hans christern anderson. Though quite well known its not as on the nose as say Hansel and Gretel.
It'd help if you gave me a better idea of what your doing?

I wish I knew!
It is a "free" project, so there are no real criteria or guidelines, which makes it very difficult. At the moment I am thinkng of six or eight black and white images of woods, but unsettling images rather than nice ones found in nature books. I want that sense of primal fear to come through. I've to speak to my tutor on Monday.
