Menthol Penguin - Currently revising/editing my book

Okay so I Hhaven't had a journal entry recently so I shall update you all.smiley - winkeye

First up I have a shiny new keyboard, bringing my grand total of keyboards to 3. First one is wireless so I got a back-up for when the batteries are dead. But the backup one had a faulty 1 key which I lived with for a while until it wond me up too much. Now I have a slimline keyboad with really quiet keys.

Like that but minus the buttons on the edges.

I also got myslef a bluetooth adappter, which sticks out about hakfa centimetre bas the USB port. It's miniature! And I got a card reader as well, so I can finally use the SD card I have. And in asda I saw a firewire calbe kit for a fiver and also a usb kit with adapters for all of hte different ends, I could see that coming in handy so grabbed those two. And I got a USB hub as well so as not to clog up all of the other USB ports.

I've also reinstalled Morrowind and have started palying that again as X3 keeps crashing whenever I blow up a ship.smiley - sigh It took forever to download allof the mods for morrowind and I'm till misssing a few. Thankfully I can now run through certain ares that I couldn't before as the game lagged to much.
I'm off school today as I don't feel too well, and then it's half-termsmiley - somersault

skiver!

Shame about X3 - have you updated the all your various drivers - graphics, motherboard etc? Check the manufacturers pages for latest versions. Or it could just be that the mods you are using are a bit duff - try disabling them one by one until it works again.

Glad computer is working well - not sure what you are going to do with all those extra bits you are hanging off it though smiley - winkeye Must look like some sort of made computer experiment by now!

I believe everything is up-to-date yeah. I read somewhere that audio drivers may be causing problems so I'll mess around with sound in general and see what happens.

Does it in both xp and 7 as well.smiley - sadface

You are fond of your gadgets, aren't you?

I need a new laptop myself, but computer specs bore me, so I haven't bothered looking them up. I'm an odd sort of geek. I care about code and protocols, but not in the slightest about hardware or gadgets. And I have the simplest phone I can find. Calls and texts: nothing else.

I do have a good camera, though. Separate.

Sho - employed again!

all I care about with computers is that they don't require faffing with. Which means that I'm pretty much stuffed.

I don't do much with them, though, outside storing music and photos, a bit of letter writing and making catalogues of records and books. And surfing the net.

Which is why I lurve my netbook so much (after all the faffing with the wireless router smiley - cross)

As for phones, I get one from my company, and as part of our company makes them I usually get the latest hot&sexy model they're making. Currently I have one with a 6.9GB mp3 player on it - which is my favourite thing about it.

My wireless at home used to be monumentally fast...now it isn't.

Nothing else has changed - this is why i hate computers.

I'm not so good with the coding and stuff, I'm more interested in the hardware side of things. That might be because the hardware stuff makes more sense to mesmiley - smiley

Wish the photos that I've been taking looked as good as yours Bel, I think that might be because my hands shake too much thoughsmiley - biggrin

smiley - yikes That's a lot of memory! I must say the mp3 player is a cool feature, I quite like it. Not sure how long the battery will last using it though.

Since getting my new computer I've had quicker downloads speed than before. Normally around 1000kb/s. And that's with a cheap Addon wireles card.smiley - smiley

well i live in the flipping peak district (no that does not mean i expect to be overwhelmed with anyone other that daily mail editors telling me that teenagers have no idea of what they give away on the web)

which reduces speeds, not sure why its getting worse tho.

Have done most of a maths paper, and am doing some position paper work - i have to summarise what south korea is like as a country, so people know how to act like a country in MUN.

For those that dont know what MUN, wiki it, assuming you can care enough.
I'm currently being hammered for being reasonably good.

Currently using my computer to search for aliens. That's right, I'm using/doing SETI@home. Unfortunately it doesn't run on my graphics card as it's not an NVIDIA one, mines made by ATI, so its running on CPU and is a bit slower.

However I believe the next update will bring better support for ATI cards.smiley - biggrin

Ah you've set it to run whenever not being used elsewhere - I'd suggest allocating times (0100-0800 ?) when you wont use it

I tend to be on my computer most of the time so it's easier for me to turn it on/off when I need to.smiley - biggrin

you can also set the cpu threshhold on it so it doesn't try and use 100% of the cpu - mine runs quite happily in the backround if I am running other stuff.
