*sweeping in*
Welcome to h2g2!
I'm one of the <./>ACEs</.> - a friendly bunch of people who like to meet and greet newcomers and help them find their way around.
A good place to start exploring this site is taking the <./>DontPanic-Tour</.>
If you've got any questions, just hit 'reply' and I'll do my best to answer them - that's what I'm here for!

Do you have to write entries or cvan you just converse?
Hola from your ACE, Cyaidan!..
Kristina the Flamenco Dancer - PS of Duende, Muse Posted Jun 15, 2004
You can do anything you want (as long as you don't break the <./>HouseRules</.> that is)!
There are people who prefer to concentrate on either <./>Talk</.> or <./>Read</.> or <./>Contribute</.> - and some people do all of those things!
I myself started out with just joining various conversations, but when I searched the Guide for an article on Flamenco and failed, I realized I 'had' to write one myself - that's how I ended up writing my first edited entry!
So.. it's really up to you! Stick around, take your time to find out what you want to do
Oh - and the h2g2 front page is very useful - you'll find the most recent edited entries there, as well as the five busiest conversations and other stuff
Why not start off with telling everyone a little bit more about yourself - like interests or geographical details, or pet hates or whatever? You can use this link to edit your page: <./>UserEdit?Masthead=1</.>

Ah, so you've already found one of the many virtual adventures going on at h2g2?
Then you might find these entries on Continuity useful: A351866 and A496091
Have fun!

Well, I'd recommend checking the clubs' section in the weekly <./>ThePost</.>
You could also keep an eye on the 5 busiest conversations on the front page, or check out the most recently updated conversations on the info page: <./>Info</.>
There is really a *lot* of pretending going on - some of it very simple everyday stuff, like having drinks in a pub.
Some of it is more intricate, where you need to really check out the background story before jumping in - I've been lectured myself on breaking the 'continuity' that I gave you links to earlier.
One way of exploring the various 'places' of this site might be to check this page in detail: <./>C572</.>
Be careful though - you might end up being involved in more conversations that you can keep up with, and even getting addicted!

What are the best ones for people who like demons, etc?
Hola from your ACE, Cyaidan!..
Kristina the Flamenco Dancer - PS of Duende, Muse Posted Jun 22, 2004
Demons? Heavens, I've no idea!
This place has been existing long before the BBC took over (something like five years by now) and there is a *myriad* of threads and conversations - you could spend weeks or even years (I know I have) wandering around and still only have seen a small part.
No one has complete knowledge about the whole site - not even the Italics.
Try clicking on the 'Who is online' link - if people have fanciful additions to their researcher names it might indicate that their part of a game.
I know Yar Kramer is into a lot of games - you could start a conversation on his page and ask if he knows of any games including demons: U46995 (See? His researcher number only has five digits, meaning he was among the first ones to register!)
Oh - and have you checked the Classified Ads in <./>ThePost</.> yet?

Found one that has magicians, that's close. I like demons though, and a good love story.

Kristina the Flamenco Dancer - PS of Duende, Muse Posted Jun 28, 2004
Well, if you can't find a game, maybe you could start one yourself?
Although I'd recommend spending some more time at h2g2 first to get the hang of how people advertise things, how to attract other players and so on - it'd be a pity if no one showed up!
Demons and love? Hmmm.. that reminds me of a game long ago that sea wrote down in the form of a story - let me see if I can find it..
Ah - found it!A497162
