June, oh, how I love the month of June!
Posted Jun 4, 2004
Yes, its June already! Whoopee doo I hear you cry! Ah, but for me June is great, my favourite month of the year. I've waited all the year round for the return of June and now here it is! Excited is what I am, only a few days to go and I will be going to my 'mecca', that is Waddington Air Show. Blow taking the kids on holiday, Airshows are what I live for, and what I build my life around. Oh yes, and there will be more to come, Riat in July, Elvington in August and Southport in September, hoping to throw a quick trip down to Cosford as well, and hopefully Duxford too! Now we are living, for Airshow Season is upon us! Dont expect to see you there, but its not everyones cuppa tea is it?
Finished reading The Amber Spyglass by Phillip Pullman, was good, but not as good as the second book and that wasnt as good as the first book. Just got back from Leeds - silly husband of mine thought it would be a laugh to enter the new X FActor tv show auditions - well it was an experience, not a very good one, but an experience nonetheless. It just proved to me first hand how false TV is.
Now I just need to drown my sorrows as I am not going to the Download festival tomorrow and will miss Linkin Park. I am devastated! ( Dont worry, I will feel better by Monday)

Cats! And what to do with them!
Posted May 23, 2004
Cats? I love them but at the moment my two are making me tear my hair out. Sid, bless him, I rescued from some relatives who didn't want him after their new baby was born. (This is the 4th 'pet' they've grown bored of - I hope the baby lasts a bit longer!) Sid is beautiful, white and tabby, with the most soulful eyes in the world. When he 'miaows' he makes no sound, so a bit dumb, so to speak - or not in his case. He follows me around like a little dog and looks up at me so inquisitively when I speak to him. Jess, a different kettle of fish altogether, shes tortoiseshell, bad tempered and 'skittish'. I call her my yin/yang cat as her face has different markings on each side. Well, Jess has lived with me for 7 years and I love her very much. Sid has been with me for 2 weeks, and he's about 7 years old. Two weeks of cat fights! They seem to hate each other with a passion. Sid likes to be indoors and rarely ventures outside, Jess who has always been an 'in/out' cat has now taken to only coming indoors when she thinks Sid is not around. If they meet, God forbid, they really tear into each other. What am I to do? When I first got Sid I said I would give them a couple of weeks and if they didn't get on together then Sid would have to go. Two weeks have passed and already I love Sid so much I don't want to part with him. Now I am thinking of giving them another two weeks... If anyone reads this and understands cat behaviour better than myself, I would be grateful for some advice, hints, comments etc.
For those not interested in cats, I would like to tell you that I am almost at the end of reading Phillip Pulmans Dark Materials trilogy and I think its one of the best books I have ever read. Oh, and when I write next time, I'll tell you why I am looking forward to the end of June.
