*Takes a few deep breaths*
Posted Dec 12, 2006
Okay, so my mom was supposed to call me last night to figure out how we were going to pay for books this next semester, she didn't and I was slightly annoyed with her. That is where by being annoyed by her stops, I get a phonecall about 9 AM and it's mom sounding like hell... by hell I mean sick, not fire and brimstone like, turns out that yesterday when she called me about noon she had a headache and was having trouble focusing. I thought "okay, she's having a migraine," and I told her to go home and sleep, she did, and got worse.
So to make a long story short, her doctors think she had another mini-stroke, this makes three or four now, and frankly I'm quite scared. Little strokes turn into big ones, and big strokes kill... So yeah, there's another doctor's appt. today because she's actually going to a neurologist for a consult instead of the emergency room, where they had a PA diagnose her. Some PAs are excellent don't get me wrong... but the excellent ones also understand that they ARE NOT doctors. I say this because as a PA you don't see enough cases to diagnose certain things, you didn't go to med school, and you may be qualified but let a doctor see the patient... oh, and if it's even hinted at that the diagnosis might be a stroke, you refer the patient to a neurologist! So, sorry for the rant...

Final Exam Time Already?!?
Posted Dec 5, 2006
So my finals for the semester start next Thursday... I'm just a little sad about this... mainly because all of my time will be spent with my head shoved in a book, which is going to make me a bit to say the least. It's also WICKED COLD!!!! So on top of me freezing I'm also probably going to end up being ill.... much ickyness...

Busy, busy, busy...
Posted Nov 30, 2006
So I suspect that I've gotten myself in far too deep with trying to make everyone's Christmas presents this year. Four handmade blankets and a mitten/hat/scarf/slipper set along with various scarves all have to be done in three weeks... I think I've gone a bit mad, to say the least. Some of it is already well on its way to being done, three of the blankets are somewhere between 1/3 and 1/2 of the way done with minimal effort on my part, all but two of the scarves I needed to do are finished and the mitten/hat/scarf/slipper set I got a three week extension on because they were for a friend's girlfriend and he won't be here until the middle of January. Oh, and on top of all this I still have class every day for at least several hours. Lots of fun being a college student eh? Well that's me done complaining I guess... everyone try to get some sleep for me, please?

First Week
Posted Sep 14, 2006
So today was the end of my first full week of classes, it has also been the first week that the professors who were on strike are back to work. I think I'm going to like the new biochemistry major and will be far less stressed now that I don't have to worry about being "perfect", in the University/nursing department sense of the word. There's the news from my little world I guess.

I'm Not Dead!
Posted Aug 17, 2006
Feeling a bit Pythonish today. Okay so many many updates! Firstly, I'm no longer majoring in nursing, I changed to biochemistry and then hopefully after I get that degree done I'm going to go to medical school! Secondly, found out I have cat allergies which is why I've been chronically ill for years. Thirdly, and most importantly, I'm on my first real vacation in years! There are more updates but those are the major ones, if anyone is curious about anything else just ask.
