hello and good morning

Well, its the early hours of the morning here in the UK and I am at work.
I am working in the operations room at distribution centre for a supermarket company.
It is freezing cold outside and we had snow yesterday ( 1 inch !! ) but it nearly brought the country to a standstill !!
And how about you ?
hello and good morning

well, that's funny. somewhat unusually, we had snow (which usually brings our city to a standstill for some unknown reason) about four days ago, but as usual it melted and now, (quite usual) we have sun and a degree of about 40 or 50 ferenheit (sp?) which suddenly feels very warm and cozy to us considering the recent weather. we're crazy. but the weather's nice, now.
hello and good morning

You are are right !! it is funny how we in the UK get 1nch of snow and virtually everything stops. I was just reading about it in the newspaper. Roads were in chaos, the rail network was suffering severe delays and even the underground had problems.
Now, when I was a child we had heavy snow every year and I just can`t remember it causing all of these problems. What about Russia where the temperature drops to -30 ? Everything just keeps ticking over.
Well, thats enough about that ! Its true you know, we Brits are obsessed with talking about the weather.
Hope you are well and you never did tell me where you are from .
I am back at my desk again looking out on to a warehouse floor. We have supplier vehicles being unloaded as I type. All with fresh fruit and veg to be picked and sent out to our shops. I might have to finish soon as I may just have to do some work
I finish at 6am and that still seems a long way off at the mo.
Take care
Rob

i am from Oregon. It is a state just below Washington state which is the most northwesternest state there is (besides Alaska). most states commonly get lots of snow. so, the towns go on as usual, and everyone's all right. but, though it's not that unusual for us to get snow at least once, they act like it is. schools will close, if they even forcast snow (the forecast is rarely correct) and then they'll stay open if we have a whole foot of snow which is what happened just recently.
i'm sorry i didn't answer sooner. nobody's usually up this time of day over there, so i didn't bother checking.
hello and good morning

Over the last few years our weather forcasting has improved so much that you really can rely on it...there I go, talking about the weather again !!
Well, its nearly the weekend and I dont have much planned, in fact I have have nothing planned at all. My daughter is expecting her first baby in the begining of March but we think it will not go that long. So, everything is on hold with us until the baby is born. You would think my wife was having it !!! but we must be around in case she needs us, so she says !!
Been pretty busy at work tonight so this is the first chance I have had to come on here. I used to be on here a lot at one time but now I just drop by now and then.
Hope you are well
Rob
