Good lord, High Duke, what have they done to you?

I gotta make some links to your :X entry from the Zaphodista pages. That is awesomely accurate.

Do you mean that you're not going to participate on h2g2 anymore, or that you just removed your guide entries to another webhost? I hope we can reason with them and make h2g2 a place that you will one day be happy to return to. It's depressing when they tell us we're not welcome here, though.

I will not use THDoM again until I can do so freely. The name on the account will serve as a reminder to those persons viewing the edited entries to which I contributed that censorship of this work is alive and well courtesy of the BBC.

I was censored in the Smiley Ben conversations basically because I got fed up and read him the riot act, without swearing or name-calling.

Someone apparently felt posting 26 would be too distressing to Ben, who as a H2G2 subeditor basically says in that discussion that anyone who does not approve of the changes, "you lot", should go elsewhere, attacks Americans, and generally shows how pigheaded establishment wannabees can be.

Not that it really matters much in the general scheme of things, but THDoM dies until either freedom is restored, or the Guide folds. I'll be happy with either outcome.

:X

For all it's worth, the message you posted just said it was refered to a Community Editor, so they may override the scrumptiously beautiful kissy kissy oh we love you so much for reading this, where was I? Oh yeah, got side-tracked kissing up to the mod*rat*r.

Anyhow, you could check back and see if that message is returned to its rightful place in a day or two. But I totally understand your feelings. It's getting ridiculous. Sometimes I feel like Mark and Peta are trying to help, and then I read bits where they invite us to leave if we don't accept the status quo.

The status quo was not what H2G2 was about when it was started.

Where is Douglas Adams in all of this? Did he just sell and walk away?

The entry came back, by the way, not that I am overly proud of it -- BUT I should have the right to rant if I want to. smiley - tongueout

And I was not radical about this until I got stung myself. Even though the comment was eventually restored, by it being removed the conversation it related to was changed.

Which is another form of censorship unto itself.

"Let's set an example."

I will drop you an email away from this place where the talk may be more free, but thanks for your comments, and thanks for the Zaphodista idea.

MY goal is to have :X popping up all over the place, linked to subversive little rants/poetry/thoughts. smiley - tongueout

I dropped the hint on Zaphodista Communiques page that people ought to start using your tape-over-mouth smiley to indicate how they feel, and I've seen it in a few nicknames since then.
