I was just being nosey, and popped over your to your userspace, and wondered if you wanted any help working out GuideML...? I'd be more than happy to help you sort it out

On briefly looking over what you've got, I think that you may need to swop the little button at the bottom... When you go to "Edit Page" there's a little button at the bottom that asks if you want the page in plain text or GuideML.. Just swop that over to Guide ML and you'll be ready to jazz up your space as much as you like

You're not thick! I get confused with GuideML sometimes

My best guess is that the reason you're getting that error is because you have the and tags in your plain text entry.. You might need to get rid of those tags at the top and bottom, as well as maybe getting rid of smilies [don't worry, I'll show you how to put them back in afterwards ]. I'll also show you how to get in the pictures from teh gallery Once you get into the swing of things, you'll probably find it really easy

Woohoo! It looks like we have a start

Okay, so first things first, we need to put in text..

Now, there are lots of things you can do with text to begin with. If you want to give subheaders to sections, you need to put tags round the name of the section...for example, I want a section title called "Hobbies" I would do one of these two things:

Hobbies

OR

Hobbies

Try using both and see what you like best... you can check by clicking on "preview this entry"

Now, with putting normal text in, there are also two ways that. So, let's say I have two paragraphs..ermm... for example, I want to write
"There is a cat" In my first paragraph and "It sat on the mat" in the second... The way most people will do this is:
There is a cat
It sat on the mat
On your entry, it will look like this:

There is a cat

It sat on the mat

The second way of doing it is like this:
There is a cat
It sat on the mat
On your entry, it will look like this:
There is a cat
It sat on the mat

The easier way of going about it is putting a in front of what you want to say, and then putting at the end Don't put any smilies or shorthand characters like "&" in, becsuse I've known that to cause trouble.. You should be able to put whatever you want in!

the reason it isn't displaying your text is because of the tag Anything you want to appear on the page must go before the tag! Easy mistake to make I recon you're getting the hang of it otherwise

If I want to change the colour of the text or the background do I have to write it all out again?

No no no....of course not... You just need to add more tags!

If you want to change the background colour, you need to add a table in mose cases, which gets a bit fiddly..

To change text colour, I belive you juts need to add the tag [or whatever colour you want] at the begining, and after the text, I think you put or although I can't remember which.. I'll go look into it for you!
