An ongoing experiment
I guess that's how I view life, not just mine but that of the universe. I was born in one of the worst winters of modern times in 1947. The river Thames was frozen enough to allow skaters to skate and hot chestnut vendors to vend. I sometimes think the world has gone to hell in a handbag since then but that may just be old fogey talk. I live in Billingham which is either in Teesside or Cleveland, depending on the individual point of view. Before the boundaries were altered in the spaced out Sixties, Billingham used to be in the county of Durham and everyone knew where they stood. Around 1972 the powers that be thought mixing stuff up a bit more would be a good idea and formed the county of Cleveland. Now some folks would like parts of Cleveland to be claimed by Yorkshire. I'm not saying that all of us up here are confused but I know a lot who are. The experiment will continue.Latest Messages
