And ask you a bit of a favour?
I need to get hold of links for maps of the following, and Googling seems to be strangely unhelpful, so I wondered if you had any info to hand on the following?
Maps for:
Paris Metro
French Rail Network
Belgian Rail Network
Dutch Rail Network
Luxembourg Rail Network
I'll have another Google tomorrow, but if you could lend me a hand I'd be eternally grateful.
Thanks in advance,
Psyc.
no problem at all!

paris metro: http://www.ratp.fr/center_eng.shtml
advice: get the "carnet" of 10 tickets. even if you don't use them all it's much cheaper. (the metro in general is much cheaper than the london underground anyway)

in stations the lines may be a bit long but the personnel are really great, and not only do they generally speak english, they love doing it.
belgian rail: http://www.b-rail.be/main/E/index.php

trains in holland are so frequent and distances so short that you don't even need to know what you're doing to get around easily. a tip: i'm pretty sure the best place to rent bikes is at railway stations. in the old days they had a system where you handed in your bike on departure and get a cheap (maybe even free, memory is foggy) rental at destination.
lux railways? the place is so tiny i don't think you need this.
if you have any specific questions about france or holland, i'll be happy to give advice. i know both countries really well.
