Intro
Hi
BookMark is Mark Braybrook . He has a 5 year plan and is currently in his second year. Of course, he might already be a writer if he had listened to Mr Middleton way back in 1974 instead of making his own decisions with regards to a career! But then again he might not have so much to write about as he has picked up some interesting stories over the years. He likes to try many types of writing at the moment. He has written some 15 short stories, is currently working on the final draft of a childrens novel, and has written a 3 act play. He's also dabbled with poetry. In year 3 of his plan he needs to sell something. That's when he will know if his writing works, or whether he should go back to chopping wood! Mr Middleton was his English teacher and his advice was for BookMark to take up writing as a career. BookMark said he wanted to work in a factory, and got to live that dream! After 9 years of plastics engineering he went through one of his many career changes. He's been through redundancy 3 times now, and the last time he realised it was probably the spirit of Mr Middleton (who is hopefully still around!) trying to tell him something. This time he listened to that inner voice (instead of argueing with it) and enrolled in a local Creative Writing course. The rest, he hopes, will be history.
