Profile
I retired in my 50s to Zimbabwe in 1992 to join my new family after helping to found a new industry, (broker Bonds), through innovative techniques in the UK. As an independent financial adviser I managed to keep my clients clear of all major hazards, including bankruptcies, stock market volatility (despite investing there), and major risks for over two decades. Then new legislation put thousands of small companies like mine out of business. So I decided to complete some ongoing researches into housing finance, banking, savings, pensions and economics in my own time, from home.
I was already a respected writer on lending and other financial issues in my time. I was consulted by the UK treasury when my inflation forecast beat theirs and most others. I was a panelist on the BBC’s Ceefax Unit Trust panel. Later, I set up some unit trusts in Zimbabwe, managing them, marketing them, and training the whole staff. These are among the most successful in the country and have mostly kept their clients’ funds growing ahead of the hyper-inflation current in that nation. I originally studied the design, management, performance and testing of complex systems while working as a quality control engineer.
My interest in this forum is to meet others who share these interests. The research work referred to above is due to be published anytime soon in an unusual form: workshops for institutions and government departments in partnership with the universities currently taking a strong interest.
I hope this is not too much like advertising - I just want interesting contacts in my field of study for now.
