Hello Prof,

yes, I work in Dhahran,Saudi and I go over the causeway to Bahrain every weekend which means I go on Wednesday afternoon and come back to Saudi early Saturday mornings. Thursday and Friday being the Saudi weekend.
It got very nasty about 3/4 weeks ago in Bahrain, then the soldiers from the other Gulf countries (mainly The United Arab Emirates and Saudi)came and since then it's been quieter, but it's by no means finished yet.
I'll go over the causeway tomorrow at 3pm and I'll be in Manama by 4-ish so the next time I hit h2g2, it'll probably be from Manama. The place I stay at is less than a mile from the (now demolished) Pearl Roundabout.
Thanks for the enquiry and I hope eveything's OK back there on what I believe may be a warm bank holiday.

I THANK youfor the information Lapis and knowing this now, I do hope that your position over there etc will be safe and not get "roped" in as some "foreigners" have in the Gulf area and needed evacuation of sorts .
