I think that would be great Rafe loves meeting and taking to new people and even though he can't speak russian maybe we could act as scribes for them and your daughter could learn English while Rafe learns some russian. By the way could you suggest some books from russia our family might enjoy and I will see if we can get some english translations of them.smiley - biggrinsmiley - cheerup

Hello smiley - biggrin
Do you think you could help me find some good material on homeschooling? I would very much appreciate personal notes of both children and parents who are involved in it, as well as a website with reliable guidelines etc.
My students and I are studying 'education' (as a language area, of course) and I would like to give them a chance to look at alternative ways of getting one, as their own experience is entirely school-based. Homeschooling is very uncommon here. In their final years of school some children choose to study 'externally' (I wonder what the American term is - provided there is a similar structure, of course), which means they spend less time, if any, having formal classes, and just take tests and exams. This kind of 'external' learning exists within the state system of education, but unlike the mainstream school, it is not free of charge.
I hope I may use one of your first journal entries with some notes on homeschooling smiley - ok
Do you think we could ask your kids about their experience?
