I feel very proud of myself

Oh, I envy you the sea trip (stroke excluded)! Have been dreaming of going to the seaside this summer for a couple of weeks, but not sure about the money...I'm very bad at saving, and we have to save for three months every year since I don't work in summer and hubby's money is utterly unpredictable. A two-week holiday by the sea for five of us(A. would have to stay behind to look after my mother) will mean another 2000 bucks to save...ugh...
Re people's comments on journals, as well as this (forum) medium in general: after two months I find it cripplingly limited and frustrating. As someone who tends to perceive the world in pictures
and inarticulate acts of awareness (sorry about this, I am struggling with words) I miss so much the faces, 'the body language', the 'aura',
the sounds of human voices, the colours etc etc...
My daughter has started work on the project, and we tried (in vain) to find a zoogeographical map of Australia, which would come in handy.
So far she's put together an introductory piece on the geological history, geography and the climate. The animals part will be more tricky as its really difficult to choose which ones to pick and which to leave out.
Two more students of mine are supposed to be working on a project
on the use of the Internet for language learning purposes.
It's a huge topic, too.
It's our first experience and they'll have to give a 7-minutes presentation at a school conference if they cope with the work.

If it is of some help to you I would be happy to list state by state the most significant animals, as each state is known for certain animals over others just let me know if want this... I had not realised you were a visual spatial person too truly a kindred spirit hurray.

Listing the most significant animals may be a good idea once we get a starting point clear - the most prolific? the most conspicuous? the dangerous ones? the endangered?
Thanks anyway, provided it doesn't take too much of your time.

Yes, enjoyed the pics so much! Pity mum and dad were missing, though
The kanga picture is great, we'll have to ask your permission to use it in my daughter's project as an illustration of human - animal relationship. Does it live free now, or do the people that reared it feed it and generally look after it? I still don't have a clear idea of kangas's ways and attitude to humans . (What springs to mind is our stray dogs, or, for that matter, stray pigs in India - a friend who's been there told us there are lots of pigs roaming free and begging for food...The moment you sit down for a snack, the pigs are there...)
Why did it get into your garden? Why do you have to pat it away?

Please feel free to use the pics would have sent one of us but much to my amazement we didn't take any of us at Christmas they are all of the children and as yet these are the only ones I have been able to get off the new system stupid beep beep darn @@#@??#$@^ thing
The kanga comes in from time to time just hops our fence line it lives about 20 properties away usually but every now and again he shows up the kids love it when he does as usually kangas wont have a bar of you unless they have been hand reared, that doesn't stop them from sneaking into the orchard and sampling the fruit or breaking into the feed bins given half a chance they are extremely clever and can be very dangerous especiually the male big reds one swipe of their front claws can slice open your chest no problem but for the most part they are happy just to hop it.
Rafe was patting it simply because he could for the most part we encourage the children to steer clear of the wildlife simply because it not good to make them dependent on humans makes them vunerable to predators
Well I haven't had dinner yet and work is calling and I am pretty sure Nic has left a message to which I want to repond to but it might not be until after dinner now
Have a good day Elena
