Greetings from Moscow!
How are things down under?
Still busy greeting newbies?
How's work on the memoirs?

Lovely to hear from you
Life is much the same ... downunder we are heading for a long, hot Summer.
The memoirs aren't progressing at all - I'm afraid that my Mum isn't well and hasn't been for some time - though (hopefully) she is improving slowly. I hope that we will one day be able to get back to them.
I hope all is well with you ...

I turned out to have married a descendant of polish shlahta - the proud lot (his ancestors would have never married someone with a good portion of Jewish blood ) - hubby went to visit his homeland in Polesjie, Belarus and got copies of their nobility 'certificate', or whatever they call it in English.
He keeps entertaining me with bits and pieces of family history, which gives one a chance to touch History...
Yeah, we're alive, but I wish some of the teenagers in this household were past the horrible- bore-ible, lazy, crazy, and generally hardly bearable years .
Humbly asking your prayers,

You definitely have them!
The bad news is that when you think that the "horrible- bore-ible, lazy, crazy, and generally hardly bearable years" are over they will find another way to make your life a misery
My nieces and nephews are way beyond those years and, although they are wonderful, they still put me through hell at times.
Aaah children - you spend the first few years waiting for them to start walking and talking and the next 20 wishing that they will sit down and shut up
My Mum said that, by the time they reach the teenage years all that you can do is hope that the values and sense that you have given them will see them through and that they will find them again in the end, and, if they don't, that you can help them pick up the pieces and get on with life.
Wise woman my Mum!

Thanks for your prayers and warmest regards to your wise mum - from a an unwise and sometimes completely helpless mum.
Hope to keep in touch
Elena

I don't think that you are a "sometimes completely helpless mum" - I think that you are just suffering from "children" and, like most mothers will win in the end

That was a sweet one
A wise child of wise mum
Incidentally, have just been hugged by the unbearable - well, I *might* win in the end
Name's Ivan, could you remember him, too, please?

Feisor - -0- Generix I made it back - sortof ... Posted Oct 8, 2007
Of course, though I suspect that, if I really knew him I'd never forget him
Ivan The Terrible?
If a teenage boy gives his mother a hug it just proves 2 things ...
1. Said boy is not as terrible as you thought he was
and
2. His mother is the fabulous mother that I suspected she was
But then again, he could be doing it just to confuse you totally - what do you think he's after?

Your messages make me smile and bring tears to my eyes - long live the net-thingy and the net-entities
BTW, The tsar you mentioned was called 'Grozniy', from 'groza'- 'a storm', 'grozit'- 'threaten'. So, 'Grozniy' means 'threatening' rather than 'terrible'.
Incidentally, 'Grozniy' is also the name of the capital of Tchechnya.

Yes, I agree about the net thingy ... sometimes I think that because the communication is almost anonymous it allows us to be much more honest and honesty is one of the first requisites of true communication.
Ivan Grozniy suits a teenage boy - threatening like a storm ... you never know whether it will bring destruction or just life giving rain and the stimulation of thunder and lightning.
Give him a hug from me (if he'll let you)
(I love thunder storms )

How's life been treating you lately?
Sorry, no time to lurk, just hope you're OK. How is your mum?
Ivan the T. is OK - but I'm afraid someone else has a chance to hug him these days More prayers urgently needed
He's become a bit of an invalid though (pushed too much weight in the gym, stupid, and got disc hernia ), which, however may reduce his chances of having to join the army if he fails to get into uni (some hope! every cloud has its silver lightning...)
Best regards! wish I could see Australia one day

Great to hear from you
Life is pretty much the same - Mum has her good days and bad days At the moment she is suffering from neuralgia (sharp shooting pains through nerves in her head). It's something she has had before and there's nothing much they can do for it - just pain killers. We're coping, but I feel so sorry for her, I wish that there was more that I could do, but there isn't - so we cope. It will pass.
Ivan is still being Ivan? Isn't it amazing that teenage boys can think that they are indestructible but when they hurt themselves they are so helpless. They try to be tough but in matters of the heart they are so fragile. He is very lucky to have you
Australia awaits you .....
