About Oldvillageidiot.
I am a woman, 54 going on sixteen. Live in rural Suffolk where I was born. Have a son of 33 whose still at home, must look after him too well! Failed my eleven plus and went to Secondary school, left at fifteen without qualifications. Have always enjoyed putting words down, mainly because I feel I've never been listened to, so writing is a way of expressing myself. Always voted Labour but the Iraq war and the failure of Labour to implement true socialist policies has made me consider withholding my vote next time. May I say I am a red flag amidst a sea of blue in this part of the world and my family. Lived on a farm for the first twenty years of my life. Gained credits for two Creative Writing courses. Enjoy writing about real people, the guts of life. Enjoy walking, any kind of music as long as it has a message in the lyrics, honest enough to say reading is not my number one hobby, as anyone reading my works may have worked out for themselves. Writing is an escape for me, if others like it great, although the only person I write for is myself, it is me, something that is all mine.
I have had letters published in the local paper on diverse subjects, the war in Iraq, affordable housing, pro-gay clergy.......
