I certainly will. I'm a smiley - huggy person myself too.

No i don't a pc at home. Not yet. Priority is to get a new job first. Almost ready for that. Part time to start me off. See how the old nogging copes with that. Soon after i will get connected and online. I also plan to take some courses in IT. It was the plan before and it still is.

I actually discovered this place through a digi box to begin with. No pc was required. It's amazing what you can do through your tv now.

How long have you been using the net?

Hmmm, I think I met a free-net for e-mails and newsgroups about '93. I've been a computer geek since they put one into my brother's high-school in '69. And so it was a happy coincidence that I got my fingers into them during my 21 years of Air Force time.

And a couple of my hootoo friends use primarily the digibox. Hellelou of Australia, and Venus of the Uk. And probably several others. So if you can atleast use that side-door method to the hootoo....

Also, if you have a moment and e-mail, you could send me a note , I can send you some full addresses to find me at different places.

When not at home, I also have the work e-mail live all day, ...

There's just no hiding from some people, eh? smiley - laugh

I'm only guessing, but I probably have between 50 and 60 first-cousins yet living, and I might be lucky to recognize 5 if I met them. Didn't much visit when living with my parents, and even that ended 27 years ago. I imagine a few may have changed their looks a bit, smiley - huh Except a bit more definition, my piccy today isn't a lot different than a school pic from '72. smiley - erm Not sure if that's a good thing or not. smiley - biggrin

Sounds like a good thing. Wouldn't say i'd changed much over the years either.

I don't see many of my cousins now either. Used to when i was young. Life just keeps us all very busy. Most of them are married and have kids of their own now. I did get a lot of lovely cards when i was in hospital from most of them and a visit from some of them too. I know we have each other in our thoughts.

So besides wandering aimlessly around hootoo, what wondrous things will fill your day? I'm only 3 hours into my w**k day so far, and on a Monday yet, ... *sigh*

Well i will be in here mostly and possibly beginning my journey home this evening. Takes about two hours via public transport. I'm not a driver but if i were it would probably take about 45 minutes. The rest ot the night will be filled with unpacking, housework and late night tvsmiley - smiley

What will you get up to when work if over for the day?

The Reverend Something or Other

I usually have a couple e-mail lines going for the first hour home. Then my wife gets home from her work, we figure and make supper. Then the evening, usually bits of TV, telephone and hootoo or MSN Messenger.

I don't expect the weather to hold out, but if it does, I still have well over an hour of lawn mowing to try to get done. SUch a fun life, eh? smiley - laugh

I might say that they are the ones with a bit of a mental deficit, except one of my best hootoo friends is quite a floral gardener. So I had better be good. smiley - laugh

The more people, I chat with, the more I find we all have so much in common. We may live in different climates and speak English differently, but under it all, we are just working, living, loving people. A comforting thought, after seeing all the bad on the news reports, eh?

Intro

Post 55

Detective Armani

It sure is. I like to think that i try to see the good in people more often than not. Maybe that's why i try not to watch the news. It's unavoidable though when things are happening on your doorstep. There have been a number of devastating fires and other incidents happening in and around Glasgow. A lot of the communities are still in shock from them. Suppose these things happen though.

Don't mean to be depressing. Just came to mind.

Time for a smiley - hug methinks

I might even better that with a smiley - hug and smiley - smooch

And unfortunately, after having served 21 years of the Canadian Armed Forces, I have become inextricably hooked on following all the major world events. But there are occassionally some very uplifting bits that happen as well.

But you are right, and if you look at my tag, you will see that I actively look for the good. In every body and thing. smiley - biggrin

Poor Serephina has just been smiley - injured by a wasp sting. Wee soul that she is.

Intro

Post 58

Yes, I saw that. The only remedy I know of is a wet blob of mud on the sting. As it dries, it draws the stinger out. But it is not very anti-septic and most ladies wouldn't be much interested. (An old rememdy from the Germanic farmers I grew up with)

As you are going home soon, I guess I won't be hearing from you again, for quite awhile? Until you get some kind of hook-up? smiley - sadface

It should't be too long. In the mean time i will be checking out my local library. I believe then have net access there. I'll check it out tomorrow. Also, as i've said in the e-mail so forgive me for repeating myself, i can send e-mail from my mobile phone and check my account from it to. So it should be easy to keep in touch.smiley - biggrin

Ah, well and good then. When I reply, I will include my working-day address as well. My normal hours would translate as about 11:30 am to 8:30 pm for you. And as I work in a shop alone, the e-mails are picked up and replied to quite readily. smiley - smiley

And once you're settled to some PC access, I might even threaten you with a piccy of myself, and my little clan.

smiley - hugs a-plenty
