He sounds like a writer! Welcome to the club! I always got those symptoms, there's no cure though, i've spent the last few days snarling at everybody in site because my novel is crawling along at a snail's pace!

Well, it's good to hear that i'm not alone in the world. Grr, novels... i'm so short on story, so short on description, and i just can't write dark, sad tales that actually CARRY ON. I have problems with tense and perspective... eek. But it'll be gone in the end, hopefully.
Just got to work through it. Keep smiling, Noushka... don't panic. It'll all be OK in the end.

i'm not really panicing, but i've been suffering from a migraine for the last three days!!!
the problem is that i have all these images in my head but when it comes to writing them down... blaaaah, ahem.
i've been listenig to the music of the last samurai and lord of the rings (the elvish parts) which are very inspiring... dark and tense...
and generally not what i'm succeding at!

Hmm, well, why not get all your ideas down on paper in some kind of basic form and then structure around that? It might get easier to write with structure, when you know what's happening, and that way you can plan your characters and how they speak and react, again making it easier to imagine and write... it's just a thought.
Then again, trying to work with a migraine isn't the easiest thing, either...

thanx 4 advice
Noushka Posted Apr 23, 2004
but the problem is i have got everything all the characters, scenes, adventures, but i haven't got a quest! It's sort of Lord of the Rings and The Last Unicorn in the sense that it's got elves and unicorns! i just can't find an aim, so i'm writing everything down but i don't know where i'm going... i'll find my way someday!
Shall i harvest such remorse within me
Noushka Posted Apr 23, 2004
is something that is said by one of my characters before they set out on their adventure, i think it's terribly pompous, but i know it's in there somewhere!?

Eek, lack of a quest's an awkward one, particularly for a fantasy novel... well, then, could you not just make a decision?
Say they have to kill [something] [somewhere] to result in [something] and just work from there...
It's not pompous to say you'll find your way eventually, but you do need to know vaguely where you're going. But you have to take risks, and you'll learn whether things work as you go on... take a broad plot and go from there, build around it.
Once again, just my view, but you'll find it really difficult unless you bite the bullet and make a decision so you can start planning.
Best of luck!

EEK! Didn't look at the subject line, didn't realise you meant 'Shall i harvest such remorse within me' as the line you were talking about, sorry! I don't mean to offend you, i was just deeply confused over which line you meant, i thought you meant 'i'll find my way someday.'
Sorry!

as they say in France "shall i harvest such.." is the name of one of my latest works, and there is absolutely no need for u to "eek" so much!
i'm thinking about their looking for a king, though he wasn't meant to be a king, and they have to cross an ocean and dive through a black sea.
pray don't b embarrassed!

Hmm, what about the loss of a king... he's disappeared, which has left a blight upon the land; they head out to find him to recover the land but it turns out that he's not the real king. They end up searching for the true descendant and then evil wizards turn up who want to keep the land under their grip, and so start picking them off... and so on.
Remember the Fisher King myth and the blight upon the land, and have you read T.S.Eliot's THE WASTE LAND? Similar images of (specifically death by) water and fallen kingships... it's well worth a look. Some of the most powerful images of all time, it'll inspire you.
Anyway, hope it's some help. Best of luck
