Mr Dreadful, there is of course a way of writing the dreaded m*ff word in an Entry if you really want to. It works equally well for other such words, so I don't spread it around, but occasionally as a curator I come across an old entry which has words in it which would not be allowed now. I want to make some other change to the entry, unrelated to the rude words. So I bypass the filter and make the change. I'm not introducing a profanity, because it was already there.

In the case of m*ff, you won't be introducing a profanity because the word is harmless.

I'm not sure how that helps me write a new entry though....

You just bypass the filter, so that it doesn't spot the word in your entry. Note that is the letter f.

Unfortunately, you can't bypass the filter in an Entry title. So if you want your entry to be called Mu­ffs, you're stuck.

I'll have to remember that... luckily the word won't be in the title.
