Heya. I've jsut been reading your LARP article and you mentioned Maelstrom towards the bottom. I'm heading to my first event at Easter and that just happens to be Mealstrom- you're not going to be there, are you? Much as I'm going with a few people I know it's always good to see a hootoo face.

I'm afraid I don't do Maelstrom, but a lot of my friends do and I keep hearing great things about it. Someday I'll get around to going.
I also highly recommend Ascendancy (which used to be called Shards), which is the main system I play. http://www.ascendancylrp.co.uk/

I hear via the Salon that you'll be at the next Maelstrom event. Yay!
You don't fancy playing a dryad, do you?
We'll be about from Friday evening, so you, I and Runescrib might be able to have a little get-together if you'd like. A mini-meet, if you will.
I probably won't see you IC unless you're playing native.

I am indeed... and no Dryading. Kamakuran human for me.
If we get the time it would be good to get together briefly. Depends on how busy the teahouse is!

Have you created your character yet? We heard some odd rumours about Kamikurans so I'm a tiddly bit surprised. Still. At least no prosthetics, eh.
Ah, are you serving in the tea house? Sounds far too much like hard work for me!
I'm kind of hard to contact on the field, so I guess it's probably best to arrange a meeting place/time.
We're rarely about for time in though (there's a fanatstic fried breakfast place at the marina, for your information, and they didn't bat more than one eyelid at us being there in full kit).

I didn't lose my voice, though it suffered a bit when we did the hippy-elf anti-war protest on Saturday morning... screaming "fascist oppressors" at heavily-armed orcs (who were actually rebel orcs, but the protestors didn't know that) whilst sprinting away from them is remarkably fun!
Spent a lot of time painted green... and one bit in a full-head mask waiting in a chilly ravine for two hours for players who never came.

Oooh, nobody likes hanging around for non-existant players.
Black was our colour of choice - the reality we were in happened to have intersected with a hell dimension, so I got to be hell-creatures of various persuasions quite a lot. They screamed as they sensed imminent death, and giving the amount of death we were dealing we had to scream a lot.

Screaming monsters are always a great way to put the willies up the players...
Are you on Rule7 at all?
*waves*
Vip Posted May 17, 2010
We did our best to announce our coming several minutes before we actually emerged to give them enough time to scare themselves. The monster organiser did announce that the players were absolutely bricking it at one point. He was most pleased.
Yeah, I'm down as Z'im on Rule7. I've only really posted a couple of times, all bar one on the Maelstrom section.

I had no idea that was there... Finally, the character got photographed!

Vip Posted May 20, 2010
That's the only one of me too. I was hoping the Loa would have a few more photographs taken this event, but it didn't happen. Ah well, I sould get my camera out and do it myself, really.
