Mr. Dreadful - But really I'm not actually your friend, but I am... Started conversation Sep 23, 2011
Picking up a new bass on Monday evening... it's an early 70s Jazz Bass copy by Columbus (which were apparently made in the original Ibanez factory using cheaper materials).
I don't really need it, but by all accounts Columbus basses that have survived this long are usually pretty good and as it's not only more gear but free gear I'm going to declare it a win all round, really!

Would've been an even better story if I'd seen the ad for a fully working vintage bass amp going for about five times less than its usual value before someone else had!

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side... Posted Sep 23, 2011
As someone, who in the past extensively collected guitars, bass guitars, acoustic guitars, electroacoustic guitars, and ampls and suchlike.... I've spent the past few years going in the opposite direction and reduceing down the excesses of my earlier purchasing Though sometimes it is so tempting.... all these second-hand shops... all these second-hand instruments... *eyes bagpipes and curious percussion instruments in corner of room doubtfully*
