Hiya,
I noticed on the Challenge H2G2 page that you said you were from Rotherham... I'm from Rotherham too (Kimberworth Park), although I'm living in Leamington Spa now and haven't lived in Rotherham for about 8 years - so I'm gradually turning into a Southerner 
. the worst thing is I work with a lot of Brummies so I'm gradually developing a Yorkshire/Brummie hybrid accent 
.
Just thought I'd pop my head around and say hi 
. If you fancy any help with the H2G2 entry on South Yorkshire, I'd be more than happy to help out - especially regarding Meadowhall, where I spent many an afternoon as a teenager and where I try to drag my husband whenever we go up 
. My parents still live there so I'm sure I'll be there again soon enough.

sorry not to have replied sooner, I've been away and at the moment don't get a lot of time to spend on hootoo due to RL issues.

I was born in Rotherham (at the hospital) but actually lived here: A2503379
Now I live in the midlands 
Anyway I haven't got long but will catch up again soon and if not, give me a nudge

Oh yes, and feel free to add to the South Yorks thread: I am trying to mould everything there into the Entry (which is, ahem, 'in progress')so I will be pleased so see any info you wish to donate!

I'll add stuff as and when it occurs to me, and I'll try and research bits, too . I seem to have a scatterbrain at the moment.
BTW - one of my friends at college lived in North Anston! 
I'm forever 'discussing' with my husband whether or not the Midlands is really North or South - but then he's from Dorset so practically everything is north to him
