This is the Reserved Me
I'm a long standing memeber of H2, but sometimes its nice to give an airing to the more thoughtful aspects.
I'd hoped, when I first began I could be more "me" here but... I dunno, you start chatting and exchanging ideas with others, you get to know them a little and they you. One becomes part of a Community of sorts.
And before you know it, there's the Public Persona taking over.
And the quiet bits, the less certain bits get nicely hidden. Before I knew it I found I don't even bother to air them - its not that the Public Persona doesn't acknowledge them, of course. But the defense mechanism is a strong habit to break. I fear to appear foolish, or naive or uncertain, even here, as in Real Life. And I get easilly interested in people, and less easilly interested, as the years go by in attending to me. Sometimes, I am so busy, being many things to many people, I forget about the quiet, unsure person I actually am. Thats well and good; too much introspection is unhealthy. Equally so, is too little.
But I think it may be time for me to wobble around the site a little uncertainly for a while. To ask some questions I really ought to have the answers for but still haven't learned and really understood. To respond perhaps to some questions that I have learned the answers to: to share the bits of me that arn't usually for public display without that damned Public Persona getting in the way for a change. Without getting sidetracked by the joking and banter that is the best and at the same time, worst aspect of H2G2.
In short, I'd like to explore the bits of me I havent quite met fully yet.
