Thanks for pointing out to The Doctor in the Mad Lab that there are Christians on the thread. I understand non-believers taking the Lord's name in vain since it means nothing to them, I'm just saddened to see it used as a curse.
I lurk on that thread because it's about the funniest and most imaginative thing on hootoo since the early days of 3N. Unfortunately, 3N rarely enters into that much wild creativity any more. The Doctor has a wonderfully hilarious way of describing what he's doing that always makes me laugh out loud. I especially love the "sound effects" in his posts.
I don't post there because I don't care for the idea of having my body parts rearranged, even if it is only virtual, since that seems to be what happens to everyone who wanders into the place.
(On the other hand, a little liposuction I could go for! Ok, I admit it - a *lot* of liposuction instead of all this time consuming and relatively ineffetive diet and exercise nonsense! But I don't want The Doctor doing it!
No way!!!)
Thanks Frinky, I appreciate it

It's nice to see i'm not the only one in this "society", really means a lot to know someone else is out there...
anyway, it's not as bad as it seems, all the lab (and boardroom by the way) you really can have fun, i mean, i sort of re-arranged myself,so i earned the trust of everyone there..
by the way, i now have a hole where most of my insides should be, and my once clean pink slippers have been thrown in the trash more than once.
Thanks Frinky, I appreciate it

I'm *really* enjoying reading on there - and I may eventually break down and post something...
I've actually been known to be reading a thread that I hadn't intended to post on, and automatically wrote something and hit post without thinking about the fact I'd been intentionally avoiding posting on it.
If you're interested, there are a couple of Christian groups on hootoo. The one is somewhat defunct because the person who started it has a real life now, and isn't on here any more. The other group isn't very active at all, but occasionally someone will stop by with a prayer request or question.
whats that then?

hootoo?, sounds good, more details, please?.....
i actually have been around in this place for about 6 months, and didn't (or couldn't) pluck up enough courage to sign into a conversation and say anything..........it's good once you do because you get into the storylines and start making friends.....
whats that then?

Hootoo is short (or long, depending on how well you type) for h2g2. I'm a lousey typist, so it's always easier for me to find the "O" than it is for me to do anything on that letter line at the top of the keyboard, although with all the typing I've done since I've been on here, I only have to backspace and correct about every third letter instead of every second letter now.
First thing I did when I signed up was to go over to No, no, no! on the manifesto page and sign up for that.
However I lurked a good bit before I ever signed on as a researcher because my kids had been involved in this for years. They finally convinced me to sign up a couple years ago.
whats that then?
frinky Posted May 27, 2004
i agree, numbers are quite disrythming when you are typing...
but only being 17, i lack most of the necessary experience in lurking to actually lurk well...
whats that then?
Lady Scott Posted May 27, 2004
I had no idea that advanced age (grey hair too?) was a pre-requisite for lurking well.
How much experience does it take?
whats that then?
frinky Posted May 28, 2004
the minimum for good lurking is about 21, apparently anyway............ grey hair isn't exactly needed, but for anyone to have grey hair and then dye it brown or something just looks naff and throws the lurking rythm into chaos....
Key: Complain about this post
Thanks Frinky, I appreciate it
