There seem to be a lot of resurrected threads around here lately! It looks like I picked the right time to start looking back into hootoo!
You gotta do what you gotta do, and paying the bills is kinda important now. I read elsewhere about how you're trying to decide on what to study. Is there a chance of studying part time and working part time if you have to? That's what I was doing a few years ago (although I was working full time, and I wouldn't recommend that ... not that you ever sleep or anything).
As for me, I've been very busy with things, which is why I haven't been online too much or been very good at answering emails. I really only get a chance to come online during my dinner break at work, and I was involved with a miscarriage support group online for the past few months. I have to say, it's a bit more upbeat here ... but just a bit.
TJ and I are doing fine. We've been saving money, and it looks like we'll be completely out of debt by around November. That means that we'll be able to start looking to buy a house! Sadly, we can't afford it on Long Island, because the housing prices have gone through the roof, and we don't want a house with a hole in the roof! My friend just sold her mother-in-law's house (which adult protective services said was so bad that she couldn't live there anymore) for $275,000 (£157,070 ... at least that's what the currency converter tells me). It was then resold for $300,000 (£171,350) while they were still at the lawyers. *sigh* Needless to say, we'll be moving to Ohio. Not that I really want to, but at least we can afford to live there! We can get a big, beautiful, brand new house on a few acres for the same price as a piece of junk here.
That's it for now. Time to eat! Kiss the babies for me!

I got a squeek!
I guess you'll just have to wait and see, then. Don't you love it?
I don't know what I'll do in Ohio ... literally. Can you believe I work for a newspaper that's owned by a huge multimedia conglomerate, and they don't own one company in Ohio! Who knows? Maybe they'll buy something, or even sell us by then. I hate to leave the company, not that it's amazing, but because I've been here for 13 years, and have 4 weeks vacation, and so does TJ at his job. I'd hate to start all over with one week's vacation a year again.
No woman of leisure here ... unless we hit Lotto! I'm getting a new computer, and I've made sure it's one I can upgrade just in case I find I need to work from home for a while when we move. Luckily, I have a very good friend that I worked with here that just got a new job with a company that's based in Ohio (although she'll be working from home). She's got an executive position with them, so maybe, just maybe she'll be able to help me when the time comes.
