Gratuitous Greeting
10th May, 2000, near Hog Hollow, Gray Station, Tennessee
I guess this is where we are supposed to tell our life story...NOT! I am a Plant Inspector with the Tennessee Department of Agriculture, and a member of the Horticultural Inspection Society-Southern Chapter (and former Vice-President). We live in Upper East Tennessee, within sight of the mountains. I collect moths, and have worked extensively with Gypsy Moth survey and eradication in this part of the state. I collect stamps, listen to Irish and Scottish music, and spend a lot of time gardening and working on genealogy.
As for gardening, my favourite plants are Daylilies, Iris, and Daffodils.
Much of the genealogy work I do is centered in the 3rd Civil District (Bloody Third) of Johnson County, Tennessee...an often neglected, rugged portion of the county near the North Carolina border. It is full of history, feuds, intermarrying, and rugged individualism.
That's about it for the interesting stuff! Needless to say, I've read "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", and played "Starship Titanic", and also like "Riven" and "Myst", and "Connections".
Later...
John

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
