York meet up
Elentari Posted Mar 8, 2007
I wrote one, it's in right now! Hope you all approve. I would have got opinions of things to add to it, but I didn't have time, it nearly missed this issue as it was.

Thank you! DougSoc is in no way a Sci-Fi and fantasy society [mostly it's apparently inteligent people doing flippin stupid things], and if you'd like to come along on Tuesday [Vanburugh Bar, 8pm, I'll probably be their early as Bunny is doing other things] this week is Universally Challenged, AKA the quiz night.

Ah sorry. I thought it was. I have my assessed essay to do this week (7% of my degree) so I'm afraid I will be rather busy!

It's fine. We are apparently the only DougSoc left in the country, so I'm not surprised with your absence of knowledge on the subject.

That'd be worse!
According to one of DougSoc's many websites:
For anyone who has spare Tuesday evenings, and likes to do silly things under the pretence that they're actually members of an elusive and completely l337 fan group of one particular author...so beloved by that man that he once described a very similar club as "a bunch of w**kers"...

Aye, Thought it sounded fun. Then realised how long it was since me and Elentari talked about it. Anywho still sounds good to me.

Midge and I encountered another researcher t'other day, who also wanted a meet, and who may know somebody else as well. So we should really come up with some ideas.
Something touristy? Ghost walk & pub?

Oh fantastic! What's their screenname, do you know?
That sounds good, yeah. A ghost walk would be good as I'm helping to organise one for freshers week so doing a different one from the one I've already done might help me pick.

We seem to be agreed on ghost walking. How do Wednesdays suit people?
