Greetings from your ACE!
Vicki Virago - Proud Mother Started conversation Mar 1, 2004
Welcome, welcome, welcome!!!
I'm an <./>ACE</.>.......it stands for something, Ah yes, that's it Assistant Community Editor!
I'm here to help you round the magical maze of h2g2 (fondly known by researchers as hootoo), and to help start you off, I've created a little list of links, just for you, so click here A1159210 and have a look at them when you have time.
If you click on each link, they will take you to parts of hootoo so sane person should ever go.....
......but seems as no-one here is sane, it doesn't matter does it!
Have a look around, and don't be afraid to jump in on conversations, hootooers don't bite (well, some of them do, but I'll steer you well clear of those )
Remember, if you get lost, just keep turning left and you'll eventually get back to the beginning. Failing that, just click on MY SPACE on the left hand side of your screen and you'll get back to your personal space.
Remember, I'm here to help.
Greetings from your ACE!

H2G2 is huge and can be quite daunting to a newbie (that's you ), but feel free to lurk on conversations anywhere and if you feel you want to reply....well - now you know how to!
Always a helping hand available.

I've never spoken to any one whose Chinese! That's a first for me!
So do you live in the UK or China?
Greetings from your ACE!
badapple Posted Mar 2, 2004
Of course! I live in China. And this is my first time to talk to a Englisman too. It used to be dull to talk to people in my country,so I come to a completely strange place. And I find it very interesting here.People here are very friendly and attractive.I like here.
Greetings from your ACE!
Vicki Virago - Proud Mother Posted Mar 2, 2004
I only asked because we have a very big Chinese community over here....I thought perhaps you'd come with your family.....it's nice to know that you feel so at home talking to us on here.
I had heard that China is very strict on what you can access on the internet...I take it the BBC website is accessable for you.
It was quite strange, it was only the other day when I said to my partner that I'd quite like to visit China one day....see the usual places such as the Great Wall and what not.

Some people do not really know China will say China is very strict with what the citizens said. They may know it from some newspapers or other medias. In fact,China is not like what they said.We are free to have our say on internet.
Indeed,China is a very beautiful place with a history of 5000 years. And here have a lot of places of interest. Many foreignors every year come to visit our country. And I have a teacher coming from Austrilia. His name is Todd,23 years old.He always say to me that China is so beautiful that I don't want to go back!So welcome to China if some day you want to come here and have a look by yourself!

media is unfortunately the only way I know about China as things are now....other than that, it's the reference library - until now!!!
I've seen a lot of stuff on China with TV programs about how beautiful your country is - and how vast it is too.
I know our country has things of beauty in it....but put together as a whole it isn't as beautiful as yours.

I couldn't agree more that your country is very beautiful. And also I have read something about your country in some books, newspapers and on TV too.If a have chance in 3 years when I graduate from college ,I will come to your country for further study.

badapple Posted Mar 6, 2004
It doesn't matter! You still go the library? Ah,you must be a student, aren't you? I'm eager to know what do you usually do in class and how your teacher teach you.
Greetings from your ACE!
Vicki Virago - Proud Mother Posted Mar 6, 2004
Oh, I wish I was a student! ....nah - I work in a firm of chartered accountants and our internet went offline and we can't get back on
the library is just next door, so I booked an hour for use of the internet.

Ah!I know .You must lead a very happy life! You can earn your life by yourself. And you can do whatever you want. But I'm different.I must depend on the support from my parents. And we can't do anything but study.
