Ah, maybe that's what I've been missing then. I've only ever rarely spent times on a beach.

Then you've really been missing out!

About the only time I had much chance was the summer of '85. I spent that summer in Florida, on a training course. But with the heat and humidity of each day, I didn't much take advantage of it. The fact that I have a overwhelimg fear of waters probably doesn't help much.

What caused the fear?

It may something to do with 2 older brothers, who used to love to drag me out into a lake. To where the water was twice as deep as I was tall. And watch me flail, scream and go under ...

Ahhh. I thought maybe it was bath times when you were a kid that scared you for life.

Nope, just unreasoning cruelty and mind-wrenching fear.

I know the feeling.

I'm having lunch already *grins*

Oh lunch is still a good 6 hours away for me. I think I'll take a measure of roast turkey, stuffing, mashed spuds and gravy. We have a huge deep-freeze, and always have left-overs for my lunches. As well as nearly a hundred servings of our own home-made lasagne, soups, stews ...

That's quite impressive.

A day or two of feverish cooking, and we have a load of ready-meals for those lazy working-day suppers.

On the "give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day" principle...

I don't actually know how the proper one goes.

"Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day ... Teach him to fish, and he can feed himself for life". Or something like that. I'm just oozing with useless trivia.

How's you doing? I gathered that you had some kind of infection or something, that put you back to a hospital for a coupla days.
