A breakdown of who gives to charity, by religious/secular, democrat/republican, and rich/poor. Interesting, though the comments at the end criticise the statistics (and, more so, the data-gathering on which the stats are based).

I particularly like the definition of "rich" and "poor". Surely these are relative terms, so surely "richer" and "poorer" would have been more apporpiate, or "those earning less than $x a year".

I can't remember now how I came across that page. Probably one of my news alert services from Google. I remember thinking that I ought to share it with the h2g2 people I know, though, because you could mine it for plenty of interesting stuff.

It is an interesting topic. Wonder why there's such a difference.
I heard someone say about that savings company that went buist a couple of months ago that it's the least well off that have lost the most. They'd heard of people who wre putting an absolute fortune into these things.

Was that the Christmas savings scheme yoke? I suppose rich people don't need that kind of thing.
One comentator said it was filling the role of a building society or bank, without being anything near as tightly regulated. They're putting legaslation in place...
Stable door.

Not sure of all the details. Think it wasn't accountable to anyone so that's why it was such a disaster. Though you'd have thought they would've had insurance or something.
heard someone say it beat a bank account if you were saving for Christmas coz you couldn't get at the money. But personally think I'd still rather have some sort of bank account.
