Hell And Texas
I am a fifty-something married guy with a lot of interests. I prefer to say that I have eclectic tastes but most say that I am a "jack of all trades". I love good quotes, the origins of words and phrases and books both fiction and non-fiction. The title of this refers to one of my favorite quotes that I find appropriate as I am living in Texas and sometimes wish I weren't.
"If I lived in Hell and Texas, I'd live in Hell and rent out Texas." - General William Tecumseh Sherman while serving as Military Governor of Texas following the Civil War.
Did I mention that I'm an unrepentant Anglophile?

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
