Well folks, as you may know I had to get this lap-top when my desk top "packed up" on me, by losing is net connection?
After checking everything, I found it was the Mother Board that had gone, and with it being such an old computer, there was little chance of finding one that would run with the old processor 
However, a mate of mine on that ex service site, has found on on EBay for me
So we put in a bid and now waiting..........
So I might just get that old PC back on line...after its meltdown
