Hello
I am white, middle-aged and middle-class. I am of average height and average build and earn an average wage. I have the standard number of limbs, eyes, ears etc and have no distinguishing marks. I am rather fond of the colour grey and wear sensible shoes. I dislike loud music and anything that is too brightly coloured. Poured concrete is, in my opinion, a much underrated material. I am suspicious of anyone who is in anyway enthusiastic about anything. I dislike social gatherings, especially fancy dress parties. Traffic wardens are to be admired for the way in which they zealously uphold local bylaws. I enjoy drinking tea. Young people are a necessary evil as they provide employment for teachers who, along with traffic wardens, are fine upstanding members of society. I much prefer cats to dogs. Dogs, unlike young people, are not a necessary evil. I avoid all forms of unwarranted physical activity as, in my experience, excercise results in injury. One only has to note the burgeoning number of sports physiotherapists to see that I am right. I am extremely wary of people who reveal too much about themselves, especially on websites. Public displays of affection are unhygienic. Although I dislike their use of brightly coloured bedding plants, I have a quiet admiration for municipal gardners. Science fiction series on television have given rise to all sorts of misinformed opinion amongst members of the general public. Television is too powerful a meduim to be squandered on 'light entertainment'. I would be interested in viewing a series on the development of modern plastics. I was born in the United Kingdom but now reside in Aotearoa New Zealand. New Zealanders, apart from an unhealthy interest in rugby football, are a pleasingly sensible bunch of people. They are to be commended on their maintainance of British customs such as the monarchy and parking restrictions.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
