Music - again

Yesterday I listened again to Andy Kershaw's 'near misses' for his Desert Island choices. He included a superb track by the Albion Band, called, "Poor Old Horse." I managed to find, in my collection of old cassettes, a copy of the album from which that comes:- "Rise Up Like The Sun". This recording is very poor quality and very worn but to my delight (and "delight" is no exaggeration) I have tracked down and ordered a CD reissue. The Line-up on this album reads almost like a ''who's who,'' including Ashley Hutchings, Phil Picket, John Tams, Richard and Linda Thompson, Andy Fairweather-Lowe, Julie Covington.........and all on the one album!! - - solid gold!!

There! Have I rung any bells??

Music

This morning I received yet another addition to my collection of music - or, to be more precise, two additions.

The first was a real bargain; A DVD of "High Society" for less than £5 delivered to my door. I have for many years tolerated a Videocassette of this but it just 'ain't the same'.

The other is a CD of [and I quote the 'sleeve'] ''early and original versions of classic songs that shaped popular music.'' These recordings date from between the '20s and '50s. I love this sort of thing; don't you?
