Welcome to h2g2, my name is Jonathan (in real life too), and I'm one of the h2g2 <./>ACES</.> (Assistant Community Edtior's). We visit new researchers to meet and greet them, as well as offering a helping hand (if needed) and some useful links (I hope ), to make using the site easier.

Thanks for the intro message. I shall do what you suggest. Meantime I have 1 question which occurred to me. Where I live the internet connection is slow (I've disabled images at present) and expensive so is it possible to develop and test GuideML offline?

This might help a little it's 'plain skin', it is a plain background, but dont forget to change you perferences to plain as well <./>http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/plain/A948602</.>..... You can write GuideML offline (then cut and paste) but testing it I'm not sure, you could try posting to one of the Gurus.

Thanks for your advice. I've reenabled images which is nicer if somewhat slower.
I live near Fethiye, on the southwest coast of Turkey. We're 500m up a mountain and its very cold at present!
