Hi Junior,
You may know me or you may not.
If you do, then you know I am here as a friend.
If I can help or you want to chat about recent stuff, then just give me a shout and I can try to see if between us we can't sort this out

Hi mort, no I dont know you, but I do now.
The problem is, there was someone called 'Liam' on here once (as I've been told 100's of time)
And eveyone on here seems to think I am that same person..
I just want to help on here, I dont want any trouble, and I really dont want to leave h2g2.
That 'Liam' person has given me a bad name on here some how, and I'm getting fed up of it all now.
What can I do?
I'm really upset with this..it's going to far now..

I think that there have been some similarities in your account and his. That is why people feel it is the same person.
There is nothing wrong with trying to help. The thing is to know where there is a gap in the community and what you can do to fill that space.
There is nothing wrong with wanting to help new people to the site. But everything we say or do to a new researcher is their first impression, so we have to make sure we get it right! And that includes <./>aces</.> and Guardian Angels! (we are not perfect either - but fairly close to it )
The h2g2 community is like a big family. Occasionaly people get cross with each other, and occasionaly we misunderstand people and fall out for a bit.
But like most families, in the end we sort it out.
I think they just want this Liam/lee person to say,'sorry, i wanted to help but i got it wrong and kept trying new ways to help. Show me or tell me what I can do to contribute to the community'
As you know Fashion Cat (she is a wonderful, non judgemental person) posted to you too, in case you were Liam/Lee to try to help out. This shows that the community does want to help people and does care about other researchers. Even if it may not seem like it at times.
Equally, there is a sort of ettiquette on h2g2, but new researchers don't necessarily know what that is. Getting used to the site will help show what it is.
I remember it took me a long time to get used to the place because it is so very big!
My suggestion would be to wait until you have been sainted by the Guardian Angels and don't welcome newbies with links, but feel free to say hello to them, until you have been officially accepted by them.
Join some of the societies advertised in A660340 and mingle 'with the locals' That way, when you do become a GA you will have a bit more experience to help out newbies.
The whole point of being on h2g2 is to enjoy it, and I think you should spend some time having fun and seeing some of the good things that h2g2 has to offer!
And if that isn't enough then I will ask you to proof read some of the articles I am writing for the Edited Guide!!
