hey unc, ta very much for the welcome.
i'll spend some timeon your ref-ed pages later this aft so i can get my bearings. before i sign off and get back to non-virtual work, can you let me know if i posted my info wrong, or if all "abour me" home spaces get listed in the guide... wouldn't want anyone mistaking my jabber for an article

Not quite sure what you mean but what you've written is in your personal space. You have to create an article otherwise, not that this is difficult.

ta. i was worried that my personal info text seemed to show up when i clicked on "my guide entries" link, as well as when i clicked on the "about me" section, but, gee, i don't do "worry" much, so i guess i'll just chill...
got another question: was trying to use the guide code and it is showing up in my screen as code. could be i have a typo error in my tags and i am just stupid, but i dunna see any... is there a trick i am missing?
p.s. am i supposed to be bugging you with these questions, or is there someone else. i couldn't find answers in the tour

Well, your space is an entry in the guide, it's just not an article.
You have to specify that you are using guide ML rather than plain text. There should be a little box at the bottom on the edit screen saying 'convert to Guide ML'. Not sure if you did this or not.
Bug me all you like. You can ask any of the <./>ACE</.>s or the Gurus (who deal with more technical things), it simply doesn't matter.
