Good news!
Posted May 20, 2005
We're back and the Lake district still stands despite Henry and Diesel's best efforts.
One word of warning though. If your water supply is sourced from Cumbria please check for small white hairs before drinking your next glass of tap water. I know where it's been!! More to the point, so do the boys!!!!

Wow! Singed Boxers!

No, no ,no! Not me undies!
Let me explain. Two days ago we paid for a home session with a dog behaviourist/trainer. The boys are pretty good at following orders, but they do have the odd moment of mischief. I know they are Boxers, but we figured it was time to correct any flaws in how we handle the boys.
Although she felt they were quite good, there were a couple of things we can do to improve both their quality of life and our control.
She also suggested we attend a 4 hour intro to agility. This would give her chance to assess us and the boys whilst exercising and give them a good day out.
Today was the day. It rained all day, except for the last hour or so. Which is lucky, as that's when they took official photos by a proffessional photographer.
The boys have walked planks, wobble boards and all sorts of obstacles that they haven't seen before. The only failure being Diesel refusing to enter a mound from the dark side, even though he'd already done light to dark. This is the same mound that is used to train rescue dogs (like B.I.R.D.) for searching after earthquakes etc.
We ended the day by jumping the boys through hoops of fire. Yes, the very ones they use in demonstrations. AND the hoops were lit. Although slighty apprehensive, they both did very well and have had their pics taken whilst doing it! The flames get quite big but the boys did very well. It's a while before we get the pics, but I will post them to petownersonline when we get them.
Both dogs and owners are now falling asleep after an excellent day out. And the cost for 4 hours of fun? £12/dog, not bad at all.
I recommend this type of day out to any adventurous owner who wants to give their pet a good day out. We will certainly be going again in October, work permitting!!

'It'll never happen'!

'It'll never happen'! That's what they said. H & D in the same photo, impossible.
Well they are both sampling the best water in their lives at petownersonline.
It can be done.
