I'm sure I won't be spoiling the plot by telling you that F1 drivers influenced neither the plot, costumes or, sadly, the chariots.

Thank god for that! I can't imagine anything more dull than something *inspired* by Formula 1.

Bran may be familiar with the series currently airing on NZ tv "The Games", a satirical mockumentary series about preparations for the Sydney Olympics.

John Clarke, who heads the cast (an ex-pat Kiwi), made a very astute observation about F1. He said while the drivers race endlessly around the track for hours on end, the car that starts first invariably finishes first, the only thing throwing this pattern off, is the time taken for a pitstop. Thus he concluded the only defining skill in the *sport* is parking!

I don't wish to sound too boastful, but watching me drive around London is far more exciting than F1! That's not saying much, though; waiting for nail varnish to dry is infintiely more absorbing than sitting thru even the highlights of an F1 race!

And the less said about golf, the better.

Except perhaps that golf is God's way of telling you you've got too much time on your hands.

And there's nothing really unusual about the two entries. One is simply my original, unedited version, the other is officially approved, permanent fixture of the Guide version. If your entries are accepted, then they'll be returned to you in the condition they were found in. But then I guess, if they're rejected this will happen also. So nothing strange there.

What is strange however, is that I seem to have lost the Edit Entry tag on my NZ Pie entry. This normally happens when the entry enters the editing process, but this doesn't seem to be the case...

Golf? Nightmare!

Naturally, it almost goes without saying that it's one of the most tedious programs you can put on TV.

But I was taken to play golf with three other people (Sal's dumb idea!), as they promised the real thing was fun. Worst damn game I ever 'played'.

The damn ball is so hard to hit, and it doesn't go far, and it goes in the wrong damn direction...

Everyone is watching, and people behind are getting impatient...

And there's 18 - EIGHTEEN! - damn long holes, so you walk for hours and hours, and everyone gets fed up with you for being so damn lousy...

Yeah, let's not mention damn golf!
