My, this space is big. I think I will just cozy up and explore my space for a while before I venture out into the world of h2g2. Thanks for the space...
Ok, I have been tooling around the site for about a month now.
It is very large. Lots of nooks and crannies.
So far I have learned a lot. I have kept up with some threads that have taught me quite a bit. Some are very educational, some very offensive, some intelligent, some ignorant, some beautiful and some ugly. Much like the general population. I am enjoying myself very much.
I find that the names users have chosen for themselves are very interesting. I would love to know how some people have picked theirs. Leave me a message if you want to share. I will share mine...
I have had this nickname for many years. A dear friend gave it to me after he had loaned me the book "We Have Always Lived in the Castle" by Shirley Jackson. It is about a girl who poisons her family. Her name is Mary Katherine and her sister calls her MaryKat. Although my name is not Mary Katherine and I have not poisoned my family, he started calling me Merrikat. It stuck.
