All the very best to ST. Practical stuff: i am on beta blockers; Atenolol 100mg per day, have been for about 15 years & find it controls things quite well, no real side effects. So if they decide upping the dose of beta blockers might help, don't be worried. They seem to be about the safest effective drug around.

Having your heart going completely daft is incredibly stressful, which not surprisingly makes you stressed, which, oh rocket science time, makes your heart beat faster & dafter.

Beta blockers break the cycle & furthermore are; it seems, actually good for the heart, it gets less work to do when it's only "panic" state, but can cope fine when it's a real emergency.

Have they done the 24 hour "wear a heart walkman" thingy yet?

next update.just been in touch

ST, as Lil has informed, was due to come home, but while in the waiting room, he had another bad angina attack and has to stay in at least another day. He has to go at minimum 24 hours without any attack.I think they are also speeding up the time table for more investigation/tests etc.
