Space

OK so i needed to fill in space. I like space. Whether its space on a paper, open space in a field, head and footroom in a car... or the more fullfulling need to study outer space. As beyond this dinky solar system. What annoys me is the anal-retensive need for people to study their own back yard. They should call atmospheric science "Backyardology". As if wow, they are so fascinated with collecting the dust from a comet. Jeez, as if its something they haven't found before, when they can examine it through a spectoral analysis as far away as they like. Oh well. Trivialize the smaller matters such as how many moons are caught in the gravitational well of Saturn (which is like looking for red marbles in a bag of red marbles... the current theory going is that the rings were made of crunched up moons that were torn apart by the Roche limit or something). And we watch the media 'oooh' and 'aaahhhh' over the latest pictures radio'd back to earth. Truth be told, most of the colors seen aren't really out there. Uranus is a dim, light-colored pea-green planet... but what do you expect from a planet made up of the same gases typically expelled from livestock? The whole shebang is artificially, computer- digitized, to draw interest from the public to stimulate greater funding for the truly scientific work. Which i don't blame them for completely; you'll find the same pretty pictures of nebulae and etc. up in my room as the next person. Errr! Time's up. End of paragraph. 11:51 PM PDT 8-31-99
