baadmonkey - the little hand says its time to rock and roll... Started conversation Jan 12, 2004
My dad had the same problem, and he said the surgery was fine - bit weird because you can still see throught the eye when they take it out which disorientates you a lot, but it didn't hurt much more than when you get a migrane from staring at a screen for too long. ( damn h2g2 addiction! )

So they keep you awake for the surgery now?
Did your father have to have recovery time?
Did he have to wear a patch over his eye?
Thank you for the encouragement.

Recovery time was a couple of weeks, he had to wear a bandage over the eye for one of those, and he was under local anaesthetic. This was about 20 odd years ago, so things could well have changed by now, but if they have, it can only be for the better!
