ACE's Hi

Here's hoping you are rested again after the weekend, Bel. Skittles can be tiring... and noisy. I'm starting the week well, sifting though programs on the computer and removing anything that slows it down. We had a lovely time at the Irish Blog Awards on Saturday, 3 March. Was even inspired to mark the occasion in the h2g2 personal journal: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/alabaster/F4996924?thread=3901072

Thanks, but the weekend was even more busy than the party. It was great fun, though.
I had a look at your journal, thanks for the link. I can't really make head nor tail of it, though. Must be because I'm too daft.
How are you?

Thanks for your feedback, Bel. You seem to be in great spirits. It's lovely to have had a party.
The journal links are probably a bit "hit and miss" in my case, causing you to be a bit bewildered. I'll work on making the posts a bit longer in future.
We had a very lively weekend and I've learned a a lot about blogging.
Apparently the secret to a successful and readable blog is to have many live links to other sites.

I didn't know about that. I don't click on links very often, so I wouldn't know anyway.
And I didn't go to a party last weekend, I was at the PC working on my latest guide entry, to reply to the suggestions made by the others.
You should really think about writing a guide entry, you seem to be interested in so many things, there's certainly something you could share with the community.

Now I'm muddled. I had not kept up with all your recent news. It sounds as if you work really hard on your contributions to h2g2. All the work certainly pays off. I must read more of your writing from now on.
Thanks for your encouragment to contribute more pieces. I've reached saturation point with writing for the net at the moment, but that does not mean that I will not write a bit more here in the future. The blog is a major focus these days, as I'm trying to get it to be a bit more user-friendly.
Shall post again next week. At the moment I must be disciplined and get down to work on some programs for improving photos.
Enjoy the rest of the week, Bel.

You just do what time and mood allow, that's fine. I'm still very interested in an entry about the Blaschka family, and the exhibition you mentioned. But I bet there's a lot more you could write about. You're an avid gardener, did you see that there was a challenge about Britis Trees? It's taken now, but I could imagine your input in PR would be welcome.
Talk when you're around.

Hello again, Bel. What was due to be a quick few lessons in bringing computing skills up to date turned into a saga.
There's a very good community site called MyBlogLog and it has been taking some attenition:

You might find it interesting.
Hope life has been good in your neck of the woods since we last chatted.

Yes, thank you, it's been quite interesting, and I'm looking forward to the London meet in five weeks.
Must be off now, my brother is visiting.

The usual quick "Hi" from Dublin, Bel.
All's rosy in the garden here.

Lovely to hear from you.
Looks as if spring is finally here, the magnolias are in full blossom, it's lovely here.

Same here. Magnolias are a remarkable flower... one of the most primitive and oldest on the Planet, it seems. They have a delightful very fine fragrance.

We're just back from a holiday in England, Bel. Hope I haven't missed any excitement on h2g2.
The Front Page is very interesting at the moment, especially

Where in England did you go to? (Not that I know much of England, mind )
Thanks for the link. As I am a scout, I usually read the entries when they're in Peer Review, although I never manage to read them all.
You haven't missed any excitement on hootoo as far as I know.

Apologies for the delay in replying, Bel. We went to Yorkshire and I'm gradually uploading photos to my blog to document what we saw. The gardens there are very beautiful and well tended.
Here's hoping you had a restful weekend, as I had. Nothing unusual in Dublin, either.

Never mind any delay in replying, especially since I'm a master at it.
My weekend was good, glad to hear so was yours.
I've never been to Yorkshire, but one day, I will go there, hopefully.

Oooh, thank you. It's great to hear from you, I only wondered the other day what happened to you.
I hope you are well.

Life in Dublin is very pleasant.
I took a break from h2g2 as I was learning some new photography and computing skills.
It's nice to be back on the block here.

Gorgeous photos. Did you ever consider joining the h2g2 <./>photographers</.> group?
It's nice to see you're back. These days, I'm very busy with the h2g2 <./>ThePost</.>. The next issue will be published this Thursday.
I'm currently the 'acting editor' because our editor has some other commitments for the next few weeks.
So far, everything has gone very smoothly.
Oh, btw, I have an online album, too. I think you can find it at
http://picasaweb.google.com/thebelana
Nothing compared to your fantastic photos, but still nice to have them.

Many thanks for you Picasa link, Bel.
Your photos are lovely.
I'll study the h2g2 Photographers' group in more detail today.
Best of luck with your work on "The Post".
