I see you're on my list of friends, Golds, but I'm not on yours. We don't come across each other much, 'tis true, but can't we be friends?
I'm sorting out my list - see F2606954?thread=4804223
Can't we be friends?

Sorry, got my threads mixed. I see you're not online. I would have stayed but I'm going offline myself for a bit. Hope there's nothing too drastic the matter.

Thanks very much for the flower. My ex started yelling at me the other day (alcohol), and winter is just grinding me down a lot. Sorry to have been so anti-social.
can't remember a lot of smiley things at the moment

Thanks for the cake, Goldylock! (munch, munch)
I know what you mean about winter grinding you down. It's so dark and gloomy and so, so cold at the moment. And Christmas isn't fun for everyone. But, on the 21st - that's Friday - we have the Winter Solstice - the shortest day. After that the days start to grow longer and longer until - at last - it always seems too long for me although it was early this year (global warming?) and I hope it'll be early again - spring arrives, with my favourite flower - it comes soon after the snowdrops and crocuses - the [Goldilock] daffodil. I love that flower, for itself, and because it really establishes spring.
Do you suffer from SAD at all? I don't think I do, but on days like this I think I know what it feels like. I hope you have a good Christmas, as opposed to the miserable kind, and that you'll soon find the strength to cheer up. As to the ex - you're well rid there, or it certainly seems so.
Don't forget too that you have many friends on h2g2 - not just the declared ones like Lew and Pedantic, but friends all over the place. With very few exceptions, this is the nicest bunch of people I've come across online.
Do post again at any time - good times and bad.

My ex was very abusive - took drugs and drink and lied about it.
It's a sunnier today today, so something is going well. I am not basically a negative person, but at times have been a soft-touch for toe-rags, I think.
I enjoy reading a lot of the journals here - gave it up for a while, as I was spending up to 12 hours on the net, and felt it was taking over my life. I don't think there's anything wrong with that unless it disrupts your sleep-pattern, or interferes with other friendships, or buying food
I still go to myspace a bit, as I have a couple of writer friends on my buddy-list. I also have Vivaldi and a couple of classical composers there, which is quite a nice, (slightly Doctor Whoish) type feeling. I may go and look for Leonardo now....

I'm glad you're feeling better...just been reading some of your stuff at the Writers' Cafe....I'm very impressed, as a poet myself, Golds.
