Thanks.
I'm drinking nice cheap vermouth; it seemed a pity to waste decent when all I want is anaesthetic to help me sleep later.
I haven't been summoned anywhere, and I suspect I won't be tonight. That's probably good.

I would join you in a drink, but its kinda early here 7.25am. I don't think my boss would be too pleased if i turned up smelling of booze
Sleep would be a good thing for you, it could be a busy day tomorrow.

6:27pm here. A bit early for snoozing.
I'm about to break out the cheese and biscuits; it might not be a sane meal, but I should eat *something*, shouldn't I?

Yes, you should eat something, does'nt matter what it is. You don't want a hangover tomorrow, so food will help soak up some of the vermouth

Dry biscuits are now being forced down the gullet, along with cheese. It's better than nothing, although there is a distinct resemblance.

Oh dear, I just dropped cheese in my shoe.

Hi Ivan. 2am here in Memphis.
I remember being in shock myself about 12 years ago over a family tragedy, and I remember a bottle of wine did help.

Yes, it's a temporary anaesthetic, useful while the initial shock abates.
Now, what are you doing here at 2am?

My parents are driving me crazy basically. See my journal under Stress Bunny for details. I thought as long as I can't sleep, I might as well be awake with some friends.

Good to see you taking care of yourself Ivan. Wish I could offer something useful. Thinking of you and wishing you and your friends aroha and strength.
Food is good, even dry old crackers and cheese.

JEllen, I didn't see that as whinging. I've seen your journal too, and have been hovering, waiting for a sensible comment to come to mind.
I'm well over the crackers and cheese now. Ick. I could try something else, but I'm not really in the mood.
Once again - everyone, thanks for being around.
