h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Webbie,last year my daughter moved out around xmas(Dec 07), she wanted her own place. I was not keen, as the very "small" bedsit was costing her £85 per week. She had got a job as a carer in a residential home. This Jan 09, she moved down to Tunbridge wells, she's got a job in a hospital and is now a trainee auxiliary nurse(so proud)my son, he also moved out the middle of last year to his girlfriends(next street). I now don't have to look at the hoover as much.
With finances low as per, I only get to go out on Friday's(alas not every one)to my Buffalo Lodge, so like you said, friends don't call often as they have their own agenda's(I'm also happy with my own company, so don't feel lonesome).But my friends on hootoo, the one's I've met and the one's who I will one day, are as close to me as any within my area, that's why 7 weeks hurt

That is a shame Prof. Not being able to get out much makes such a difference, and I don't think we appreciate it till it happens. That's why I value hootoo so much. PHM is not much of a conversationalist and I would be starved of 'company' if it was left to him. I am about to begin my outing of the week, shopping, which I am beginning to hate, but at least it gets me out.

I didn't know you were in the Buffs At least you have somewhere to go. Do you still see your friend on a Tuesday, that's if my memory serves me correctly?

My days out are, the bookies to do the Irish lottery(wed/sat),pay rent etc and then shopping alsogreat life

I haven't been to friends of late what with the modernising etc and unfortunately,his wife during the xmas period was given 6 mths to live, she is having chemo' and so far (fingers crossed) it seems to be going ok, but as much as I will always think positive, only time will tell, but we are still in touch.
I joined the Buffalo's in 1982

about your friend's wife. Your life sounds about like mine. I keep thinking there must be more to life than this, but just have to accept things as they are and try to make the best of every day. Going to an old friend's funeral Monday. Sad days.

my gran' used to instil in me - there's always someone worse off than you, so I've always taken life head on and just get on with being who I am

My bro bought me an ash tray for my 21'st, still got it , but about 30 years ago when I went to visit them I couldn't smoke in their house, never did sleep their after that,

Still got my ashtray, it's been round the world at least 3 times, bro didn't make it this far tho

even an ashtray can hold good memories Anold

Webbie, the socket is one of the new ones they have put on the false wall between kitchen and back living room, until the modernising I never had trouble with any fuse switch tripping and I only discovered this, when I saw my freezer temp on zero late at night. This was last Monday and using the strimmer in same socket as tripped it againBUT it didn't effect the power to the strimmer socket ??? only the kitchen ones
