I come from Palamadai....
Palamadai is a quaint little village in South India. This village was founded on the banks of the river Tamrabarani by Neelakanta Dikshitar, an illustrious scholar. Sadly, not much remains of it as more as most people have moved out to the city and beyond for education or employment. The Agraharam (residential area) of the village is now in shambles and so will the rest of this place if the neglect continues. Over 1000 citizens from Palamadai have made it big as professionals, entrepreneurs and contributors to society. Tragedy is that the lure of greener pastures has made them forget their roots. It would not after all, be a bad idea to go back home once in a while, even if for a short holiday, and see what can be done to restore it to its past glory.Conversations
